AUCKLAND, 4 August 2026 — Westan has confirmed its role as multi-brand AV supplier on one of New Zealand's largest hospitality technology fit-outs, supporting lead integrator UNICOM Intelligent Building on the NZ$200 million Radisson Red hotel at 280 Queen Street. The project brought Philips, Kramer and Aurora LED into a single connected system across guest rooms, conference facilities, the lobby and the rooftop bar.
UNICOM led systems integration across the mixed-use development, covering network infrastructure, guest entertainment and security systems alongside the AV deployment, which Westan supplied and backed across every zone.
Philips PPDS MediaSuite televisions are installed across 322 guest rooms on Levels 3 to 14, one of the largest Philips PPDS hospitality deployments in New Zealand. The MediaSuite integrates with the hotel's Property Management System to greet guests by name on arrival, and supports point-to-point casting from a guest's own device via QR code.
Kramer commercial audio runs through the lobby, restaurant, bar, wellness centre, Level 15 conference bar and Aka Rooftop Bar, managed from a single Kramer Control touch panel. The Level 15 conference centre is built around Kramer's KDS-17 AVoIP platform across four combinable meeting rooms, running over standard network infrastructure with no dedicated AV cabling. At the rooftop bar, IP66-rated Kramer AW-8P all-weather speakers run on time-of-day presets adjusting volume and zone configuration for lunch, afternoon and evening service.
At street level, two Aurora LED displays measuring five by two metres each, with a 2.6mm pixel pitch, mark the hotel's entrance at the thoroughfare between Queen Street and Lorne Street.
