ANZ Bank at Queen Street Gets A 16.5 Metre LED Ticker Upgrade

The Queen Street branch of ANZ Bank had an existing LED Ticker that was failing and needed replacement as there were no spare parts available. They were after a high-resolution LED ticker to bring movement, light, and information to replace their existing LED ticker at their flagship CBD location.

Key project challenges included:

• Integrating a continuous 16.5-metre LED ticker within an existing internal façade,
• Achieving fine pixel detail for close-up viewing from the external passersby,
• Maintaining service access within tight architectural recesses, and
• Ensuring long-term stability and brightness uniformity in a corporate banking environment.

Aurora’s LDC500-2.6 WPR indoor fine-pitch LED cabinet

Teltrac’s first step was to assess the sizing of and mounting of the existing LED ticker cabinets and could any of the existing hardware be reused. After surveying the options available the decision was made in conjunction with the client ANZ to replace the existing hardware with new. Teltrac partnered with Westan NZ as the supply partner for the LED Cabinets and selected Aurora’s LDC500-2.6 WPR indoor fine-pitch LED cabinet — a lightweight, modular system built for professional indoor applications in addition to this they offered an onsite warranty and local support.

The Aurora LDC500-2.6 WPR series was selected for its superior visual quality, meeting both aesthetic and technical requirements. Each of the 33 Aurora cabinets were precision-calibrated for colour and brightness uniformity prior to delivery. 

Overnight Installation

The installation was executed overnight, ensuring zero disruption to ANZ’s trading hours. The Teltrac team completed:

• Removal of existing LED Ticker Cabinets
• Full structural mounting and alignment using Aurora’s precision trim kit,
• Power and data integration,
• Processor configuration and screen calibration,
• QA inspection and client sign-off

Spare modules and power supplies were catalogued and retained locally for ongoing support.

The completed ticker has become a signature digital feature of ANZ Bank's Queen Street branch, delivering vibrant, high-definition motion graphics visible from the street through glass. Pixel alignment is flawless across the entire 16.5 m length, operational noise and heat output are minimal, and the display runs reliably 24/7 — well suited to the demands of a corporate banking environment.
