Pizza Capers is a franchised pizza brand with over 70 outlets across Australia. Since launching in 1996, the brand has built its reputation not on competing in the ongoing fast food price wars, but on delivering a superior customer experience and a fresh, quality product.
The Challenge
As digital technologies became increasingly embedded in the quick service restaurant industry, Pizza Capers recognised the need to evolve. Their existing store aesthetic was clean and considered, but their traditional static menus were no longer keeping pace with customer expectations. They needed a solution that was visually engaging without compromising the brand experience they had worked to build.

The Solution
CV Media & Signage designed and delivered a complete digital menu board upgrade across three trial stores, covering hardware, software, custom artwork, and animation. Each store had unique spatial requirements, so the team tailored the installation accordingly — testing the Appspace content management platform and artwork across different environments before a wider rollout.
At the heart of each installation are three linked Philips 43-inch Full HD Q-Line displays. The Q-Line is a commercial-grade backlit LCD panel with built-in internal memory, making it well suited to digital signage environments that demand reliable, continuous operation. Its SmartPower feature allows the backlight intensity to be scheduled and controlled, cutting power consumption by up to 50% — a meaningful saving during long trading hours.
Content across all screens syncs automatically, cycling through menu items, promotional offers, new product reveals, and branded animations. Updates can be pushed in real time through the cloud-based CMS, with the flexibility to tailor content store by store.

The Result
All three trial installations were well received by franchisees and the broader group. CV Media & Signage has since been appointed the official digital menu board supplier for Pizza Capers stores opting into the upgrade programme.
